Personal Terms Agreed On £90,000-A-week Deal As Midfielder Looks To Join Arsenal

The Gunners have been targeting the signing of the 21-year-old largely due to the uncertain future of star midfielder Mesut Ozil. Arsene Wenger submitted a $40 million offer for Lemar which was rejected by AS Monaco last month. However, the Sun are now claiming that the French midfielder has agreed personal terms with Arsenal over a move to the Emirates stadium. Lemar has reportedly given the greenlight to a £90,000-a-week deal with the Gunners who have already secured the acquisition of his France teammate Alexandre Lacazette. This comes after reports by L’Equipe which claimed that Wenger had submitted a new $51.3 million offer for the Monaco star.

Olympique Lyonnais striker Alexandre Lacazette has undergone a successful medical at Arsenal ahead of his £52.7 million ($90 million) move, according to reports in the UK. The deal, which includes add-ons, should be completed before Arsene Wenger's squad flies to Australia on Sunday and will be for a club-record fee, beating the £42.5 million ($72 million) Arsenal paid Real Madrid for Mesut Ozil in 2013. Lacazette's arrival is Wenger's first piece of significant business in the transfer window and follows the promise from chief-executive Ivan Gazidis last week that "top quality" summer signings would arrive this summer.
