Arsenal to break bank and land Serie A star!

Arsenal are set to ‘break the bank’ to land Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba by offering him a massive wage to leave Juventus The Gunners were originally put off re-bidding for the player - having missed out on in the summer – as the Turin giants were reportedly set to double his £800,000-a-year salary However, an Arsenal representative at the Turin derby today, which was decided by a Pogba strike, said boss Arsene Wenger was readying an offer that would give his fellow Frenchman cash incentives. (SportsDirectNews) The man is real quality and the Gunners will down very well to nail down his signature on a long-term basis

Arsenal Keen On WBA Wonderkid Who Slayed Man Utd

Image
According to  reports today , Arsenal want to sign West Bromwich Albion wonderkid Saido Berahino. The 20-year-old has shot to prominence this season with a string of impressive display’s for the Baggies and became an instant hero at the Hawthorns after scoring a fine winner against champions Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday. Arsenal found out about his ability first hand last week when he grabbed the equaliser with a close range header – which was his fourth goal in the Capital One Cup this season after scoring a hat-trick in the second round – while he’s also got two in two for the England Under-21′s. Understandably, he’s now attracting interest from the Premier League ‘big-guns’ and Arsenal are believed to be leading the chase. Berahino’s currently earning just £850-per-week and with his contract set to expire at the end of this season, Arsene Wenger is looking to pick himself up a bargain. The Mail newspaper claims that we could snap him up for just £300,000

Rosicky returns for Napoli clash

Image
Arsene Wenger has revealed the latest team news ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League tie with Napoli. After the win against Swansea at the weekend there are no new injuries while there’s a return for Tomas Rosicky. The Czech has missed the last 6 games with a hamstring problem and his presence is a welcome boost for Arsene Wenger as fixtures mount. Speaking before the press conference, Wenger identified this game as crucial for Arsenal’s qualification hopes, saying, “We have started very well but you know if you win the second game at home you have a good chance to qualify. But I wouldn’t say it’s already a decisive game. “It’s a game that will have a great weight on the end result of the qualifying teams. Let’s deal well with that situation then we will be in a very positive mood to finish the job.” The Gunners won their first game of the qualification stages 2-1 away in Marseille, and a home victory would set them up nicely as they head into a Dortmund double-heade

Good News For Arsenal Fans : Liverpool’s Director Ian Ayre Hints Suarez Could Be Sold

Image
After the summer debacle of ‘ I want to go’, ‘ no, you cannot and will not be sold’ and after serving his ban for biting Ivanovic, Suarez has returned to action for Liverpool. He made his comeback in the loss to Manchester United but bagged a brace in the win over Sunderland. Is all well now or is it just an attempt to sweep the issue under the carpet till another transfer window is opened and their resolve to hang on to him tested? But Liverpool’s managing director Ian Ayre has given the slightest indication that all isn’t well still between Suarez and Liverpool. “Any types of incident of that nature are damaging to a brand, but Liverpool Football Club always will be way bigger than any one player,” said Ayre. “Nobody is condoning any bad behaviour, but it is just something you have to deal with.” (Daily Express) It seems Liverpool aren’t happy with him and are just bidding their time and probably waiting for an offer that matches or at least edges closer to their valuati

5 best Premier League summer signings, featuring Arsenal and Tottenham buys

Image
North London rivals snap up two precocious playmakers… 5) Dejan Lovren – Lyon to Southampton for £8m The Saints sit joint fourth in the Premier League, and boast the best defensive record in the Premier League table so far, having only conceded two goals all season. New centre-half signing Lovren has had a big part to play in Southampton’s clean sheets, and also bagged the winner against Liverpool at Anfield. 4) Romelu Lukaku – Chelsea to Everton on loan Borrowing a striker that cost £18m and scored 17 Premier League goals last season is a complete no-brainer… Luckily for the Toffees, they managed to secure the season long loan deal for the powerful young Belgian, and he’s already started repaying them, scoring in his first league appearance. Were Chelsea foolish to let him go? 3) Kolo Toure – Manchester City to Liverpool on free transfer Snapping up Toure on a freebie from City is looking like a fantastic piece of business for Brendan Rodgers. Swansea City vs Arsenal: Statistical Preview, Form Guide, Injuries & Head-To-Head

These two sides played away from home midweek in the Capital One Cup and both sides will be playing home games in Europe next week. Four wins in a row have taken Arsenal to the top of the league heading into this weekend whilst 7 points from their last three have catapulted Swansea City into the top half. Despite conceding an equaliser in the first half at home to Stoke City last weekend Arsenal always looked like winning. They were 3-1 victors in the end, the same scoreline for three of their four league victories with new German signing Mesut Özil involved in all three Arsenal goals. After losing their opening two matches, Swansea City have picked up their league form. 2-0 winners at Crystal Palace last weekend included last season’s top scorer Michu scoring his 3rd goal in as many games during the week (2 in the Premier League, 1 in Europa League). Santi Cazorla To Hand Arsenal Boost With Early Return from Ankle Injury

Image
Spaniard in line to face West Brom. Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla could be set to hand the club a boost by returning to the starting line up in time for their Premier League clash with West Bromwich Albion on October 6, Sky Sports  reports. The Spanish playmaker was not expected back after an ankle injury before the next month’s international break but tweeted: “I will be fit maybe in one week, I hope I can play at West Brom.” The 28-year-old has missed the Gunners previous four games in all competitions due to an ankle injury, but hinted that he could return for the trip to the West Midlands, though he will first miss out on the trip to Swansea on Saturday as well as hosting Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday. As well as Cazorla, manager Arsene Wenger is without Theo Walcott (stomach), Yaya Sanogo (back), Lukas Podolski (hamstring), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Abou Diaby (both knee). Cazorla’s compatriot, Mikel Arteta, managed to come through 95 minutes o

Kronke Reveals Reason Why Liverpool Refused To Sell Suarez

Image
0 Arsenal majority shareholder Stan Kronke has done a rare interview this week and gave his thoughts on our pursuit of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez this summer. The Uruguayan hitman went public with his desire to leave Anfield in search of Champions League football back in July but Liverpool stood firm and rejected two offers from us – including a £40,000,001 bid that was designed to test the strikers so-called buy-out clause. As it turned out, we had been misinformed by Suarez’s agent about the release clause and the Merseysiders dug their heels in and refused to sell. Kronke, who rarely does interviews with the British press, has claimed in an interview with the Telegraph  today that he got the feeling Liverpool were determined not to sell Suarez at any price as they feared the club would “have nothing left” if the 26-year-old was sold. “Look, Arsene Wenger had a view, our team had a view, they had a view and their view was ‘he wasn’t going anywhere’,” Kroe

Arsene Wenger says he wants to remain at Arsenal ‘forever’ and has confirmed he is close to signing a new contract at the club. ‘I’d like to be here forever and to be immortal,’ he said. ‘I don’t think we will need many talks to extend the contrac

Injury Update: Wenger gives updates on Ramsey, Theo, Flamini and Cazorla

Arsenal manger Arsene Wenger is “optimistic” that the two in-form midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini will come through late tests and be passed fit for their late Premier League trip to Swansea. Aaron Ramsey who is currently on goal scoring form with seven goal in his last eight appearances for the Gooners and will particularly eager to play in his home country. On his injury concerns ahead of the journey to the Liberty Stadium, Wenger said: “[It’s] how people recover from the West Brom game. “Overall I don’t believe we have more injuries than we had before the game but Flamini has a small shoulder problem. “Ramsey, we have to check him today. [He has] a little thigh problem but he should be all right. He has a test today. “Going back to Wales will always be special for him but you know Aaron Ramsey. He has a test today and I think he will get through it.” Wenger, however, confirmed that he would not risk the midfielder if the test do not come back conclusive. Bu

Agent gives Arsenal boost in big time January chase!

Arsenal have reportedly been given a boost in their chase for PSG star Javier Pastore, after his agent, Marcelo Simonian ruled a move to Italy. The playmaker has become unsettled according to many reports circulating and we have been surprisingly linked with a January swoop. It is no secret that Arsene Wenger is a massive fan of his and would have made a move in the Summer, if he knew the player was available. And after his agent admitted that a move to Italy was not on, our chances of nailing him have grown a little bit. As quoted on the Football Italia website, Simonian said:  “He has no nostalgia for Italy. Although he is quality we do not need another midfielder and I would much rather see a striker arrive this January

Arsenal To Play Chelsea In Capital One Cup 4th Round| Injury Good News For Arsenal

Image
Arsenal are safely through to the 4th round of the Capital One Cup after triumphing over West Brom at the Hawthorns. The Gunners took the lead through Thomas Esfield for his first ever senior goal for Arsenal, assist coming from Bendtner but the Baggies equalized when their striker nodded in a cross from close range after been left unmarked. The rest of the normal time didn’t yield any goal, the additional 30 minutes couldn’t separate the sides. Hence, penalty shootout. Arsenal were successful with all their penalties except Gnabry’s. Fabianski didn’t save any but he forced two of West Brom players to fire wide. The reward for our triumph is a date with Chelsea in the 4th round. The casualty of the 3rd round was Liverpool after they were edged out by Manchester United. Either of Arsenal or Chelsea will be the casualty of the 4th round. I hope it’s the latter and not us. Wenger has never beaten Mourinho, this will be a very good time to get one over the boisterous Portuguese. Yes

Arsenal goalscorer Thomas Eisfeld ‘will work even harder now

Image
Thomas Eisfeld bagged a goal against West Brom yesterday ... now he has his eyes set on a permanent place in the first-team. Arsenal  are through to the next round of the  Capital One Cup  after  overcoming the threat of West Brom at The Hawthorns last night.  Nicklas Bendtner was playing in his comeback game for the club and despite running into a post he also bagged the assist for Thomas  Eisfeld ’s opener in the second half - after a poor first-half display from both outfits. And because it was the Dane who bagged the assist, on his long awaited return to first-team action with Arsenal , it was almost forgotten that this was  Eisfeld ’s first senior goal for the club on what was his full debut. A year ago, in that ridiculous 7-5 win against Reading the young German entered the fray, and for those who didn’t know his talent beforehand soon discovered what the fuss was about. Compared to former Gunner Freddie Ljungberg and as ‘better than’ Mario Gotze injury problems saw B

Cazorla: “I Will Be Fit Maybe In One Week”

Image
Pin It We’ve received some potentially positive news regarding the fitness of Santi Cazorla with the playmaker telling fans on Twitter that he hopes to be back next week to face West Brom. The Spaniard has missed our last four game after picking up an ankle injury while away on international duty with Spain earlier this month and Arsene Wenger initially claimed he would be out until after the next international break, which would see him not pull on an Arsenal shirt until the visit of Norwich on the 19th October. However, speaking in a Twitter Q & A for Arsenal.com this afternoon, Cazorla revealed that he hoped to be fit to return against West Brom next weekend. If his return date proves accurate, he’ll miss this weekend’s trip to Swansea as well as Tuesday Champions League clash with Napoli, but it will be great to have him back to face the Baggies next Sunday. Our attacking options have been decimated by injury this season and with Theo Walcott joining

5 Things I Learnt About Arsenal Against WBA

Image
Arsenal secured passage to the 4th round of the Capital One Cup after a dramatic penalty shootout win over West Brom. Arsenal took the lead in the 2nd half when Elsfeld was played through by a good pass from returning striker Niklas Bendtner but a moment of lapse of concentration in defence saw the Baggies draw level when their striker headed in from a close range. Fabianski stood no chance. The extra 30 minutes produced no winner which meant penalties had to be used to decide the winner. Gnabry had his penalty saved but thanks to two misses from West Brom, Monreal sealed the win with a well taken spot-kick. Arsenal have been drawn against Chelsea in the 4th round. That will be tough but it’s not beyond Arsenal to beat the Blues. Beyond the result, there were some things I noticed from the game and I will share it with you all. Bendtner returns After 2 years in Arsenal hiatus, the ‘great’ Dane returned to the Arsenal line-up against West Brom. After Wenger failed to bring in ano

Marseille vs Arsenal Preview

Arsenal kick-off the Champions League group stage with a trip to French club Marseille on Wednesday night. The north London outfit are also in a group alongside Italian club Napoli and last year’s finalists Borussia Dortmund, in what has been described as the ‘Group of Death’ by many. The Gunners head into the game in good spirits though and are currently second in the Premier League, while the home side are fourth in Ligue One after five games. Marseille drew 1-1 at Toulouse last time out, but will be looking to make a strong start to their Champions League campaign. L’Om have made a decent start to their season. They won the first three Ligue One games, before losing at home to newly-promoted Monaco 2-1 and then gaining that draw at Toulouse. Elle Baup’s side did not feature in last season’s competition, but made it this year by finishing second in the French top-flight last season, so should head into this encounter in confident mood. The two most recent encounters between

Arsenal ready for Marseille test

A buoyant Arsene Wenger and his boys will take on Marseille in their first Champions League group stage clash. Having put to bed a tough Fenerbahce side in the qualifying stages and winning three out of their last three in the Premier League the confidence at Arsenal F.C has never been higher, more so if you take into account the arrival of a certain Mesut Ozil, slated to make his Champions League debut for the Gunners this Wednesday. Defeating Marseille is imperative for the Gunners’ knockout qualification hopes if you take into account the pedigree of the other contenders of Group-F vying for a top two finish; last year’s finalists Borussia Dortmund and last season’s Serie A runners up Napoli. But Arsenal’s French defender Laurent Koscielny is confident that Wenger’s track-record of qualifying from the group stages in each of their last 13 attempts will remain unblemished, “We are experienced in the Champions League and are all looking forward to this challenge again. We know this

Sunderland 1-3 Arsenal: Ramsey doubles up as Ozil impresses on debut

DON'T MISS Eto'o: I nearly joined Arsenal in 2000 Arsenal ‘paid heavily’ for Ozil - AVB Wenger: Arsenal future in the balance Goal Predicts: Chelsea draw The Welshman took centre stage after a Craig Gardner penalty had cancelled out Olivier Giroud's first-half opener. Frenchman Giroud became only the eighth player to score in the opening four games of a Premier League campaign, and his goal at the Stadium of Light is the first time he has notched outside of London for the Gunners. Mesut Ozil was particularly impressive on his debut following his move from Real Madrid and provided the assist for Giroud as Arsenal led at half-time before Gardner's leveller in the 48th minute. But Arsene Wenger's side secured the points when Ramey volleyed home from Carl Jenkinson's centre before he added his se
