Always you have to keep that type of information inside and we spoke about that and his situation.” This summer the Saints have so far sold five first team players from last season but chairman Ralph Krueger told BBC Radio Solent on Wedne

Wenger: Vermaelen could leave

Friday 1st August 2014 14:16 Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger plans to make more signings this summer but admits captain Thomas Vermaelen could leave the Emirates. Wenger has already spent over £60m on the signings of Mathieu Debuchy, Alexis Sanchez, David Ospina and Calum Chambers and the Frenchman is confident of making more additions to his squad. “I’m still open to do more and let’s not forget we are on the first of August today and the transfer window closes on the first of September," he said. “For years, it’s been a long time sitting with you here on the first of August having done quite a lot so we are a bit ahead of what we usually do. The availability on the market was bigger and earlier than before. “The bigger clubs have done their deals early and when one starts, everybody follows and that’s why it was a bit quicker. “Many clubs decided to do it before the World Cup and after the World Cup, not a lot has happened but I thin

Bryan Thomson  •  Pluto's Ponderings August 1, 2014  3 All Arsenal’s Signings show fundamental changes in policy and attitude Good morning/afternoon/evening you Arsenal crazed beauty. How are you this fine day/eve? It’s good to metaphorically see you again here on Gunners Town. If truth be told, I missed you, you handsome devil you. If it weren’t patently obvious, I’m quite chipper as I begin composing my post this fine Thursday eve. Quite chipper indeed. You see, I’m quite a fan of the way in which our summer is shaping up. It’s been one hell of a ride so far in terms of recruitment for us, and for a multitude of reasons too. In fact, each of those reasons can be exemplified by each of the individual signing. Not quite following? Let me explain thusly. I have pictures and everything.

Sami Khedira To Arsenal Deal Close To Completion

It has been a busy summer for Arsenal. The Gunners have been linked with quite a number of players and they have done well by snapping up some of them. Wenger has done a good job strengthening the Gunners ahead of the new season. Sanchez has been brought in to bolster the attack while the duo of Debuchy and Chambers have come in to strengthen the right back and probably the central defence. The arrival of Ospina would also strengthen the goalkeeping department. One area that has been left relatively unattended to has been the defensive midfield position. Arsenal are lacking steel there and it seems Wenger is keen to address that situation. To that end, he has been linked with moves for Southampton’s Schneiderlin and Real’s Khedira. According to reports on the social media particularly from the  account of Jimmy Chilides  who has over time proved himself to be reliable Arsenal is close to signing Sami Khedira. This tallies with  reports claiming Real Madrid are desperate to sell t

TRANSFER: CARL JENKINSON JOINS WEST HAM

Image
TRANSFER: CARL JENKINSON JOINS WEST HAM Carl Jenkinson has moved to West Ham United on loan after snubbing a move to Hull City as he prefers to remain in London. The 22year old has been told he is surplus to requirements after manager Arsene Wenger brought in Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers to play in his position. He persuaded Arsenal to allow him remain in London and the club have now accepted. Jenkinson has struggled to break into the first team as he only featured sparingly for Arsenal especially when Bacary was out injured but now competition had increased as Arsene Wenger favours his new acquisitions ahead of him. He arrived Arsenal in 2011 from Charlton and still believes he has a future at the emirates thereby deciding to move on loan.
