English Premier League side Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Nigerian-born midfielder Tim Akinola on undisclosed terms. Though the length of contract signed by the former Huddersfield Town starlet has not been disclosed by the Gunners, allnigeriasoccer.com can report with certainty that he is committed to the Emirates Stadium outfit until June 30, 2022, having put pen to paper on a two-year contract. The 19-year-old has already started training with his new teammates at Arsenal U23s ahead of the new season. Akinola is eligible to represent Nigeria and England at international level, however, it is believed that his heart is with Nigeria. Four years ago, he trialed with Team Nigeria UK and was supposed to travel with the team for a friendly against the Golden Eaglets in Lagos but the match was called off by the Nigeria Football Federation at the last minute because of the cost of flying the Nigeria U17s from Abuja to Lagos. Sanllehi : I've no anger, I'll always be a Gooner!

Former Arsenal head of football Raul Sanllehi says there is no bad blood amid his exit. The club announced Sanllehi's departure abruptly, as there was no indication he was set to move on after three years at the club. But Saturday was the end of his tenure, with Vinai Venkatesham absorbing his responsibilities as managing director. "It is with mixed feelings that I end my professional relationship with Arsenal. "I will continue a Gooner for the rest of my days, and I will be celebrating every goal and title they (we) achieve in the coming years. "I said I had many contradictory feelings at this time, many, but one I don't have is ange

Jersey Number 12 to Willian at Arsenal as Gunners sign the Brazilian for Free

Willian has a new shirt number which is 12 wore by the famous Olivier Giroud at Arsenal, after signing on a free transfer from Chelsea on Friday following the conclusion of his contract at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal confirmed Willian will take 12 for his shirt number next season, after completing his move to the club. Stephan Lichtsteiner was the most recent player to wear the number, with Olivier Giroud, Thierry Henry, Carlos Vela and Lauren as the other four in the last 20 years. Hopefully, Willian will perform significantly more impressively for Arsenal than Lichtsteiner did. The Gunners signed the right-back on an initial one-year deal with the option to extend for a further two, but they ended up giving up on him before the first year was even up. By contrast, Willian has a three-year deal with Arsenal, with no options to cut it short or extend it. That doesn’t rule out selling him before the three years are up, of course. Normally, I judge shirt numbers based positions. Three
