Kieran Gibbs Set To Miss 4 Weeks Of Action Due To Calf Injury

Image
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has dampen Arsenal fans’s celebration by revealing influential defender Kieran Gibbs has gotten a calf injury in the 2-0 win over Liverpool few minutes ago. Gibbs who was superb for the gunners was pulled out and replaced by bench warming team captain Thomas Vermaelen. Gibbs was seeing limping off the picture with some Arsenal fans on social media network twitter claiming it is a likely hamstring problem. Wenger has not confirmed during his post match press conference that the injury Gibbs scoped was actually a calf injury. Talking to the press men, Wenger said :  “It is a calf problem, I don’t know how bad it is.” Although the Frenchman confirms he does not know how bad the injury is, it is speculated that the English left back will likely miss as much as 4 weeks of action, but i hope it is not true because what Gibbs is currently contributing to the team is huge.

PLAYER RATINGS: Arsenal 2-0 Liverpool

This feels like the start of an acid test for Arsenal. Three games against strong opposition started with Liverpool. And after two successive defeats, Arsenal's temperament, as well as their quality, would be under pressure. After a deserved 2-0 win over Liverpool, the Gunners can consider their first test well and truly passed. Wojciech Szczesny - 7  – A solid display was nearly sullied by a horror moment,  when he nearly gifted Daniel Sturridge a goal. But the Pole's luck was in, and he made a couple of decent saves in the second-half. Bacary Sagna  – 8  – The Frenchman's excellent season continues. He had Aly Cissokho in his pocket in the first-half, and covered Per Mertesacker effectively when needed. His run and cross for Santi Cazorla's goal should not be overlooked. Per Mertesacker  –  8  – I confess I worried whether the German's lack of pace & mobility would leave him vulnerable. But his nous and positional sense offset any weaknesses in his gam

BREAKING – Injury curse strikes again as Arsenal lose Wilshire

According to a report from Goal this morning, Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow ahead of the club’s vital Premier League clash against Liverpool as midfielder Jack Wilshere is set to miss the game due to injury. The Englishman seems to have had a minor re-occurence of his ankle problem and Wenger seems to be in no mood to risk him in the clash against the Reds. The Englishman has reportedly had regular issues with his right ankle over the past few weeks after being on the receiving end of a painful kick during Arsenal’s Champions League defeat against Bundesliga side Borrusia Dortmund. Since then, Wilshere has gone down several times clutching his ankle and the issue is proving to be more difficult to overcome than initially expected. The news of Wilshere’s injury comes at a very vital stage of the season where his Arsenal side are set to play Liverpool, Borrusia Dortmund and reigning Premier League champions Manchester United all in the space of one week. The news is especia

Arsenal given the opportunity to pull away from the pack

By Crippy Cooke After Chelsea’s defeat to Newcastle at St James’ Park, Arsenal can now open up a big gap if they can beat Liverpool this evening. The Gunners are atop of the Premier League table with 22 points, Liverpool are second with 20 points, and Chelsea are also on 20 points – with the Blues having played a game more and now with an inferior goal difference. Victory for Arsenal would see them open up a five point gap between Liverpool and Chelsea, with fourth place Tottenham to play on Sunday. With only 10 games played, it’s nevertheless a fantastic opportunity for Arsenal to get back on track after being sent crashing back down to earth of late. They will have a near full strength side to choose from against Liverpool, and they boast having lost just once to the Merseyside outfit in their last six games. Liverpool’s last win against the Gunners came in 2011, but their new-look side stand far more of a chance given respective form of late. Victory for Arsenal will s

Breaking News : Arsenal To Announce Multi Million Pounds Deal This Weekend

Image
We pulled it off If rumours doing the round on the social media network twitter are anything to go by, Arsenal are set to announce their multi million pounds sponsorship deal with kit manufacturers Puma this weekend. It is well known fact that Arsenal will be swapping Nike for Puma in a deal said to be one of the biggest in the whole of Europe. It seems the deal will now be announced this week as pictures on twitter shows that Arsenal have started removing NIKE logos at the stadium and replacing them with Puma’s. Below is one of the image of places where Nike’s logo has been replaced with PUMA’s :

PHOTO: Injured Arsenal Star Confirms Return With Training Ground Pic

Arsenal attacker Lukas Podolski has handed us a timely boost by confirming he’s returned to training this week. The German hasn’t featured for the club since injuring his hamstring during our win over Fenerbache back in August. However, it seems he’s edging closer to a first team return after posting a picture on his Instagram account of him back on the training pitch with a message saying: “I ve been waiting for this moment – back on the pitch!  #afc #arsenal #lukaspodolski #podolski #adidas#comeback #fight #staydench #poldi #aha#upthebunner” Arsene Wenger has previously suggested Podolski won’t be back until the end of November but perhaps he’s slightly ahead of schedule now and we could see him back in a couple of weeks as long as he doesn’t suffer any set backs.

Arsenal’s Wenger: Podolski and Walcott can have big impact

Image
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott can have a big impact when they return from injury Arsenal striker Theo Walcott Photo: Nike Arsène Wenger  believes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain,  Lukas Podolski  and  Theo Walcott  can have a big impact offensively when the trio return from injury. The Gunners have suffered back-to-back home defeats at Emirates Stadium after  Chelsea  were 2-0  winners  against the north London side and booked their place in the League Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday. Podolski returned to  Arsenal  training this week following a hamstring injury and Walcott is on the comeback trail from abdominal  surgery  last month, whilst Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to be fit in late November. “Don’t go too quickly in the conclusions knowing that at the moment we have Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Podolski who are out,” Wenger said. “It’s three players who have a big impact offensively. If you put them in I believe that it’s a compl

Wenger urges calm after Arsenal defeat to Chelsea

Image
Arsene Wenger has insisted there is no need to be concerned after Arsenal were beaten by Chelsea in the Capital One Cup a week after they lost to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League,  the Daily Telegraph  has reported. The loss to their Premier League rivals was the second home defeat in a row after the Dortmund reverse and with a third home game against Liverpool to come this weekend, it was suggested to Wenger that another victory for a visiting side could undo the Gunners’ good work of climbing to the top of the table. “ Let’s not go too quick to conclusions, ” Wenger said in reply. “ If you take the points we have made since January 1, it’s more than anyone else. On a longer distance, you’ll see more of the quality of the team than in the last two games. “ It’s difficult to swallow what happened to us in the last week, but the mistakes are so big they can be corrected, ” the manager added. “ We have to keep the basis of our game and go into the next one. “

Arsenal to make £30 million move

Arsenal are readying a big move for Stefan El Shaarawy of AC Milan, according to the Tuttomercato website We have been heavily linked with the gifted little star after it emerged that he was growing increasingly unhappy at the Italian side. And despite Milan’s defiance to keep hold of him in the summer, reports have now emerged that he is looking for a way out in January and they will invite offers. He is rated as one of the best young strikers in Europe and a bid of £25 million could tempt Milan into selling him to us. The lad is brilliant and many will be hoping a deal gets done

RATINGS: Arsenal 0-2 Chelsea: Jenks Error Killed The Game

Image
By  mac14 So we’re out the Capital One Cup at the fourth round stage for the first time in 11 years after a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday night. After a lively start, the games big turning point came in the 25th minute when Carl Jenkinson’s poor header allowed Azpilicueta in to poke home the opener. That goal proved crucial as with the goal lead, Jose Mourinho instructed his men to sit back and hit us on the break. We saw a lot more of the ball in the second half but the bank of Blue men was difficult to penetrate and they defended pretty comfortably in truth, as we struggled to create. Chelsea sealed the win with a stunner from Juan Mata in the second half and there was no way back. Here’s my ratings: Fabianski – 6  – Did very little other than pick the ball out of his net twice. May take some of the blame for the opener as he should have come off his line quicker but could do nothing about Mata’s strike. Jenkinson – 4  – Poor Jenks. Awful error was crucial and his a

Arsenal see German admit he is happy after getting deal signed

Arsenal starlet Serge Gnabry is delighted he has signed a new deal at the Emirates The lad has been making a real name for himself this season and his performances prompted Arsene Wenger to give him a new deal just in case clubs came knocking He said: “Arsenal is a great football club and I’m so happy to be here and sign a new contract. For me, now it’s all about working hard and developing my game. “I’ve had some good opportunities recently in the first team, which has given me extra confidence, and this will only improve my game. I’m looking forward to giving my best for this club in the years to come.” (Sky Sports) The lad has a big future and it was a good move from us to nail down his signature

WOW – Could Arsenal really get Lewandowski for a measly £7m?

By Bob Arsenal could grab Lewandowski on the cheap! by Ash Arsenal spent a huge amount of the summer transfer window looking for a suitable player to either be a backup to Frenchman Olivier Giroud or to support him in the attack and many of the names mentioned were those under the category of ‘world class’ players. Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney, Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema were all linked to the Gunners at one point over the course of the summer but unfortunately we failed to secure the signing of any of them. It wasn’t all doom and gloom however, because it did mean we brought in powerful assist king Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid and, although he has helped the club massively so far this campaign, one area that is still under scrutiny is the club’s attacking front line. Currently we only have Olivier Giroud as a striker of real quality. Other players like Akpom and Sanogo are nothing more than reserves, whilst Podolski and Walcott both get mixed reviews when playing through th

Arsenal's Flamini could return against the team 'of his heart'

Image
wonker Arsenal midfielder  Mathieu Flamini  is expected to be out of action for the next two to three weeks. Arsene Wenger’s heart would have sunk when he saw  Mathieu Flamini  pick up a groin injury against Crystal Palace last weekend, which deprives  the Gunners  of their best holding midfielder. The Frenchman has been outstanding during his second spell with the North London club and any games he misses over the next  two to three weeks  are going to leave the side at a big disadvantage. No other player does the dirty jobs around the pitch for  Arsenal  more effectively than Flamini, who seems to love nothing better than getting stuck in, winning back possession and then moving the ball on quickly to more creative and attacking players. Arsenal have some very important fixtures coming up in the league, most notably a home game against Liverpool before a trip to Old Trafford to take on  Premier League  champions Manchester United. Arsenal V Chelsea at Emirates Stadium : Match Preview

Arsenal right for Gnabry Tomas Rosicky believes Serge Gnabry can realise his potential at Arsenal after the Germany youth international signed a new long-term contract with the Gunners. The 18-year-old has impressed since breaking into the Arsenal first team and scored his first senior goal for the club in the 2-1 win at Swansea last month. That came a week after he made his full Barclays Premier League debut in the win over Stoke. Czech Republic forward Rosicky has been thrilled with Gnabry's contribution and anticipates further progress under boss Arsene Wenger. "He has a manager here who will develop him and who has a history of developing young players," Rosicky told arsenal.com. "Nothing better could happen to him than being offered a new contract here. "He's a good dribbler and can take on you on in the one-on-one situations. That can be his strong point in the future and for an 18-year-old he's doing very well. "He's a very talented

Wenger cautious as Wilshere plays down knock

Jack Wilshere is hoping to be fit for Saturday’s match at Crystal Palace despite sustaining a knock to his troublesome ankle although manager Arsene Wenger says the England midfielder will be assessed over the next couple of days. The England international was replaced by Santi Cazorla just before the hour mark having struggled to get his passing game going – he had only a 65% pass completion rate according to  @Orbinho   following lengthy medical treatment in the first half. Talking about the problem after the game, Wilshere  stressed  it wasn’t a major problem. “It was one of those things. I jarred my ankle and I’ve done it before. I know, five or 10 minutes, I could run it off. “If you’re a footballer you want to be in the big games.” Aware that Wilshere’s youthful exuberance often blinds the 21-year-old to the dangers of playing injured, Wenger gave a more sober assessment of the situation. “You could see he was not completely himself and that’s why I decided to take h
