Medical complete: Arsenal star set to take pay cut as he closes in on loan exit

Image
Hector Bellerin has reportedly completed his medical ahead of a loan exit from Arsenal to Real Betis, according to David Ornstein of the Athletic. The Athletic report that Bellerin is set to take a pay cut in order to facilitate the move back to his homeland as final details regarding personal terms are now being worked out. Bellerin has fallen out of favour at Arsenal, Mikel Arteta only handed the ace three appearances in the final 13 Premier League matches last season and he’s not had any outings for the Gunners this term. The 26-year-old has been with Arsenal for a decade, having left the famed La Masia academy of Barcelona to embark on a journey with the Gunners. The Athletic add that the right-back completed his medical in London ahead of flying to Spain, where Betis will await La Liga approval before they can finalise the transfer. Done Deal: Takehiro Tomiyasu undergoing medical’ with Arsenal after £16m deal is agreed

Image
Takehiro Tomiyasu is currently undergoing his medical with Arsenal after an initial £16m deal was agreed with Bologna to sign the versatile defender, according to The Athletic. Arsenal were also tipped to sign a new right-back this summer after Hector Bellerin fell out-of-favour last season but it looked as though Arteta could be left disappointed as deadline day arrived with no new right-back added to the squad. However, news broke earlier today via The Athletic that claimed Arsenal had opened talks with Bologna over a deal to sign Tomiyasu after making a late move to land the Japanese international. Arsenal and Tottenham had been linked with the 22-year-old earlier in the summer but with Spurs now closing-in on a deal for Barcelona right-back Emerson Royal, the Gunners were clear to step-up their interest in Tomiyasu. Negotiations have gone smoothly as The Athletic journalist David Ornstein now says Tomiyasu is currently undergoing his medical in Italy after Arsenal agreed a dea

Official: Arsenal complete the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard

Image
At last Arsenal have finally confirmed that the Gunners have signed Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid and he has been given the No 8 shirt. Mikel Arteta made it clear at the end of last season that the return of Odegaard was his highest priority and an integral part of his rebuilding process. It will be very interesting to see if Odegaard could line up alongside Emile Smith-Rowe or whether they could play alongside each other behind our main striker (whoever that may be). Arteta obviously thinks that Odegaard fits his new system perfectly, and along with the rest of our new signings, this will be the year that Arteta has to prove he can take the Gunners back to the top. 22-year-old Norwegian playmaker Martin Odegaard spent the second half of last season on loan at Arsenal, scoring two goals in 20 appearances for the north London club. He then returned to Madrid and was hoping to get a chance under Carlo Ancelotti this season, but the Norwegian has now returned to back to the Em

Buzzing’ Joe Willock explains decision to join Newcastle United from Arsenal

Joe Willock is ‘buzzing’ to join Newcastle United and insists it was the ‘right time’ to leave boyhood club Arsenal. Willock spent well over a decade at the Emirates, first as an academy star and more recently as a first-team player. The 21-year-old impressed while on loan at St James’ Park last season, scoring seven goals in seven matches to help Steve Bruce’s side climb away from the relegation zone and eventually finish 12th. ‘I’m buzzing to be here,’ Willock told Newcastle’s official website. ‘I loved my time here last season and I’m really happy to be back and to be a Newcastle United player. ‘Leaving Arsenal is obviously a big step, and I’d like to thank everyone involved with the club for all their support over the years, but this is the right move to the right club at the right time for me. ‘I only got one chance to play in front of a smaller number of Newcastle fans as a home player last season, so I can’t wait to step out in front of a packed St. James’ Park and experi
