Arsene To Grant The Bid For Asensio Of Real Madrid

Arsenal may be having hard times in convincing the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to sign new contracts despite all efforts to tie them down. However, latest report suggests that Arsene Wenger is set to sanction a big money move for a highly-rated forward.

Spanish source DiarioGol claim that Arsenal are keenly interested in Real Madrid’s winger Marco Asensio who announced himself to the world in Madrid’s 3-1 away win against Barcelona in the Supercopa de España. The 21-year-old has been tipped as a successor to Cristiano Ronaldo majorly due to his ability to score in big games, as he was on the score sheet of UEFA Champions League final in which Madrid defeated Juventus 4-1 at Cardiff

Asensio is considered to be in Zinedine Zidane’s plans for this season but reports claim that Wenger is willing to test Madrid’s resolve with a bid. Further claim from the same report says that the Arsenal boss is also ready to match the player’s release clause valued at £72 million.
A healthy number of Arsenal players are in their final year of their respective contracts, which makes it more likely that a squad overhaul is bound to happen next summer and the idea of blooding young players like Asensio is an astute plan for the future.
Asensio plays predominantly as a right winger but he can also play from the right wing and operate centrally as an attacking midfielder.
Having Ozil as a role model could yet make this deal quite easier if Wenger truly wants him.
