Arsenal have to act quickly if they want Eredivisie star valued at €35m

Arsenal and Bayern Munich are both interested in signing Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech, with the Moroccan star having put in a host of eye-catching displays this season.

The 26-year-old star was one of the stars of the show as de Joden surprisingly knocked Serie A side Juventus out of the UEFA Champions League this week, following on from their brilliant victory over title holders Real Madrid in the round of 16.

The playmaker’s continued form has reportedly drawn the attention of die Roten, with the club preparing to replace long-serving pair Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery in summer.

According to German outlet Süddeutsche Zeitung, manager Niko Kovac’s side are interested in exploring the possibility of landing him this summer, though they do face heavy competition for his services from Premier League giants Arsenal.

Indeed, Unai Emery’s side are preparing for life after Wales international Aaron Ramsey and the club could be tempted to make a bid for Ziyech, as they plan to expand their creative midfield talent.

But with a rumoured transfer value of around €35 million, however, any clubs preparing an offer will have to part with a significant amount of cash in order to persuade Eredivisie club to sell one of their star assets.

The one-time FC Twente star – who has netted an impressive 15 goals in the Dutch top-flight this season – has taken centre stage in his side’s outstanding UCL campaign, and was instrumental in their historical 4-1 victory over Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ajax will be interested in putting the rumours to one side for now, with Hakim and his teammates preparing for de Joden’s first Champions League semi-final match since 1997 – with his success in Dutch capital perhaps a factor in whether or not Ziyech opts to move on at the end of the campaign.
