Arteta says he's 'happy' about Arsenal's NEW signing!

Mikel Arteta has come out and announced just how delighted he is to see that Gabriel Jesus is now an Arsenal player

The moment that Jesus came onto the transfer market just a few weeks ago allowed Arsenal to make their move for the player and agree a transfer deal that would take him to the club

After weeks and weeks of speculation – the Gunners agreed to pay the Brazilian £280,000-a-week and pay Man City £43 million and be the biggest signing of the summer for Mikel Arteta

He has been brought to the club to add a bit more top-level experience and to help Arteta get back into the habit of playing Champions League football with this Gunners side on a regular basis

And after seeing a deal get officially announced – Mikel Arteta has admitted just how excited he is to see that Jesus has become a Gunner – he told Arsenal.com: “I’m very excited. The club has done a tremendous job to recruit a player of this stature.

“I know Gabriel personally very well, and we all know him well from his time in the Premier League and being really successful here.

“This is a position [striker] that’s been on our radar for a long time now and we have managed to get a player that we all wanted, so I’m really happy.”

Opinion

Jesus has won multiple trophies during his stay with Man City and knows that he will be the main man at Arsenal – but we are all interested to see if he is now able to become a world class striker

He has never broken the 20-goal barrier with Man City – one of the most creative sides in the world – so as we said – many will be interested to see just how he manages at the Emirates
