Arsenal attacker Lukas Podolski has handed us a timely boost by confirming he’s returned to training this week. The German hasn’t featured for the club since injuring his hamstring during our win over Fenerbache back in August. However, it seems he’s edging closer to a first team return after posting a picture on his Instagram account of him back on the training pitch with a message saying: “I ve been waiting for this moment – back on the pitch!  #afc #arsenal #lukaspodolski #podolski #adidas#comeback #fight #staydench #poldi #aha#upthebunner” Arsene Wenger has previously suggested Podolski won’t be back until the end of November but perhaps he’s slightly ahead of schedule now and we could see him back in a couple of weeks as long as he doesn’t suffer any set backs.

Arsenal’s Wenger: Podolski and Walcott can have big impact

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott can have a big impact when they return from injury Arsenal striker Theo Walcott Photo: Nike Arsène Wenger  believes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain,  Lukas Podolski  and  Theo Walcott  can have a big impact offensively when the trio return from injury. The Gunners have suffered back-to-back home defeats at Emirates Stadium after  Chelsea  were 2-0  winners  against the north London side and booked their place in the League Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday. Podolski returned to  Arsenal  training this week following a hamstring injury and Walcott is on the comeback trail from abdominal  surgery  last month, whilst Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to be fit in late November. “Don’t go too quickly in the conclusions knowing that at the moment we have Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Podolski who are out,” Wenger said. “It’s three players who have a big impact offensively. If you put them in I believe that it’s a compl

Wenger urges calm after Arsenal defeat to Chelsea

Arsene Wenger has insisted there is no need to be concerned after Arsenal were beaten by Chelsea in the Capital One Cup a week after they lost to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League,  the Daily Telegraph  has reported. The loss to their Premier League rivals was the second home defeat in a row after the Dortmund reverse and with a third home game against Liverpool to come this weekend, it was suggested to Wenger that another victory for a visiting side could undo the Gunners’ good work of climbing to the top of the table. “ Let’s not go too quick to conclusions, ” Wenger said in reply. “ If you take the points we have made since January 1, it’s more than anyone else. On a longer distance, you’ll see more of the quality of the team than in the last two games. “ It’s difficult to swallow what happened to us in the last week, but the mistakes are so big they can be corrected, ” the manager added. “ We have to keep the basis of our game and go into the next one. “

Arsenal to make £30 million move

Arsenal are readying a big move for Stefan El Shaarawy of AC Milan, according to the Tuttomercato website We have been heavily linked with the gifted little star after it emerged that he was growing increasingly unhappy at the Italian side. And despite Milan’s defiance to keep hold of him in the summer, reports have now emerged that he is looking for a way out in January and they will invite offers. He is rated as one of the best young strikers in Europe and a bid of £25 million could tempt Milan into selling him to us. The lad is brilliant and many will be hoping a deal gets done

RATINGS: Arsenal 0-2 Chelsea: Jenks Error Killed The Game

Image
By  mac14 So we’re out the Capital One Cup at the fourth round stage for the first time in 11 years after a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday night. After a lively start, the games big turning point came in the 25th minute when Carl Jenkinson’s poor header allowed Azpilicueta in to poke home the opener. That goal proved crucial as with the goal lead, Jose Mourinho instructed his men to sit back and hit us on the break. We saw a lot more of the ball in the second half but the bank of Blue men was difficult to penetrate and they defended pretty comfortably in truth, as we struggled to create. Chelsea sealed the win with a stunner from Juan Mata in the second half and there was no way back. Here’s my ratings: Fabianski – 6  – Did very little other than pick the ball out of his net twice. May take some of the blame for the opener as he should have come off his line quicker but could do nothing about Mata’s strike. Jenkinson – 4  – Poor Jenks. Awful error was crucial and his a
