It has been a busy summer for Arsenal. The Gunners have been linked with quite a number of players and they have done well by snapping up some of them. Wenger has done a good job strengthening the Gunners ahead of the new season. Sanchez has been brought in to bolster the attack while the duo of Debuchy and Chambers have come in to strengthen the right back and probably the central defence. The arrival of Ospina would also strengthen the goalkeeping department. One area that has been left relatively unattended to has been the defensive midfield position. Arsenal are lacking steel there and it seems Wenger is keen to address that situation. To that end, he has been linked with moves for Southampton’s Schneiderlin and Real’s Khedira. According to reports on the social media particularly from the  account of Jimmy Chilides  who has over time proved himself to be reliable Arsenal is close to signing Sami Khedira. TRANSFER: CARL JENKINSON JOINS WEST HAM Carl Jenkinson has moved to West Ham United on loan after snubbing a move to Hull City as he prefers to remain in London. The 22year old has been told he is surplus to requirements after manager Arsene Wenger brought in Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers to play in his position. He persuaded Arsenal to allow him remain in London and the club have now accepted. Jenkinson has struggled to break into the first team as he only featured sparingly for Arsenal especially when Bacary was out injured but now competition had increased as Arsene Wenger favours his new acquisitions ahead of him. He arrived Arsenal in 2011 from Charlton and still believes he has a future at the emirates thereby deciding to move on loan.

Some interesting reports coming out of Spain today with El Confidencial claiming that Sami Khedira is pushing to join Arsenal after rejecting a contract extension at Real Madrid. Khedira has just entered the final year of his contract at the Bernabeu and the Mirror are citing Spanish newspaper El Confidencial as saying he has turned down a two-year extension and is now trying to secure a move to the Emirates. The German international is close friends with Mesut Ozil and it’s understood the pair have spoken at length about life in north London, so it appears Ozil may have played a key role in persuading the midfielder his future should be at Arsenal. These rumours come shortly after reports suggesting that Arsene Wenger was lining-up a £24m bid for the 27-year-old as he continues to try and bring in a long-term replacement for Mikel Arteta. Alexis Sanchez would be having his medical later today at the Emirates in a move costing Arsenal  £35 million According to the BBC, Alexis Sanchez has agreed personal terms with Arsenal and a deal of  £35 million has been agreed between both clubs. Alexis Sanchez, 25 would arrive at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground at 4pm on Thursday to undertake a medical and complete  his switch from Barcelona. Arsenal had won the race to sign the Chilean forward after a private meeting between him and Arsene Wenger. The announcement of the signing by Arsenal which was expected to be done with the PUMA launch could be delayed a little. Barcelona were reported to have announced the move on their website but later removed it. See screenshot below. The Chilean forward could earn around  £150,000 weekly. Sanchez has been at Barcelona for three years going on to score 39 in 88 games.

   Former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon says he’s spoken to Arsene Wenger and the boss is ‘very happy’ to be signing Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy. Sanchez is understood to be in London undergoing his medical this afternoon after a deal worth in the region of £30m was agreed with Barcelona earlier this week. According to reports, the attackers agent agreed personal terms after holding talks on Tuesday and the Chilean international flew into the UK last night to finalise the move. An £8m deal to sign Debuchy has also understood to have been agreed with Newcastle United and the French defender passed his medical earlier in the week. As yet, nothing official has come from the club and the newspapers seem to think that a double announcement will be made on Friday after tonight’s kit launch. Debuchy completes Arsenal medical ahead of €10m move By Wayne Veysey Jul 7, 2014 19:21:00 The Gunners are expected to complete the signing of the France international, as talks with Barcelona over the acquisition of Alexis Sanchez progress Mathieu Debuchy  has undertaken a medical at  Arsenal  and looks set to complete a switch from  Newcastle United  worth at least €10 million. The Gunners agreed a fee with the Magpies and are set to make Debuchy their first signing of the summer as they look to replace Bacary Sagna. The 28-year-old revealed he was in talks to join the north London club in the wake of France’s exit from the World Cup last Friday. The terms of the deal were finalised over the weekend, allowing Debuchy to then complete a medical on Monday evening and the deal is expected to be confirmed in the coming days after formalities are completed. Arsenal will pay €10m up front, but the fee will rise due to appearance-rela
