Personal Terms Agreed On £90,000-A-week Deal As Midfielder Looks To Join Arsenal

Image
The Gunners have been targeting the signing of the 21-year-old largely due to the uncertain future of star midfielder Mesut Ozil. Arsene Wenger submitted a $40 million offer for Lemar which was rejected by AS Monaco last month. However, the Sun are now claiming that the French midfielder has agreed personal terms with Arsenal over a move to the Emirates stadium. Lemar has reportedly given the greenlight to a £90,000-a-week deal with the Gunners who have already secured the acquisition of his France teammate Alexandre Lacazette. This comes after reports by L’Equipe which claimed that Wenger had submitted a new $51.3 million offer for the Monaco star.

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on. Inter Milan will go head to head with Arsenal for Schalke midfilder Leon Goretzka, as per report from the  Corriere Dello Sport   ( via  fcinter1908.it ). The German international is reportedly being targeted to be a replacement for Portuguese midfielder Joao Mario who could be leaving after just a season at the Giuseppe Meazza. Mario moved to Inter Milan in a £34million deal but has failed to deliver. He found the net three times and provided eight assists in 33 apearances, but has been on the sideline in the last few weeks of last season. Goretzka has put up an impressive display for Germany at the Confederations Cups, playing in the central park. The Portuguese international would however need to leave the Italian club first before an approach can be made for Goretzka. The 22-year-old’s cont

Lacazette completes Arsenal medical before club-record transfer

Olympique Lyonnais striker Alexandre Lacazette has undergone a successful medical at Arsenal ahead of his £52.7 million ($90 million) move, according to reports in the UK. The deal, which includes add-ons, should be completed before Arsene Wenger's squad flies to Australia on Sunday and will be for a club-record fee, beating the £42.5 million ($72 million) Arsenal paid Real Madrid for Mesut Ozil in 2013. Lacazette's arrival is Wenger's first piece of significant business in the transfer window and follows the promise from chief-executive Ivan Gazidis last week that "top quality" summer signings would arrive this summer. Arsenal are now likely to end their widely reported interest in Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe and Lacazette's signing could also mean the departure from Arsenal of another French international, Olivier Giroud, who struggled to hold down a first-team place last season. For Lacazette, 26, the move to London represents a retur

OX WANTS ARSENAL ASSURANCES

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will seek assurances over his first-team role at Arsenal before deciding whether to stay at the club. The Gunners have opened talks with the 23-year-old over a new contract with just a year left on his existing agreement amid interest from Liverpool and Manchester City.  Arsenal expect Oxlade-Chamberlain to sign a new deal worth in the region of £100,000-a-week but negotiations have slowed with the midfielder determined to ensure he is a key part of manager Arsene Wenger’s plans. Oxlade-Chamberlain has made no secret of his desire to play in a central role and enjoyed a brief spell there last season before Wenger switched to a 3-4-2-1 system.  That formation reinvigorated Arsenal and Oxlade-Chamberlain’s performances at right wing-back were key to its success. However, Hector Bellerin is strong competition for that position while Arsenal are well-stocked for central midfielders and also retain an interest in signing Juventus’ Mario Lemina. Live

Man Utd plot Morata transfer pursuit to fill Ibrahimovic goal void

Image
The 24-year-old has found game-time difficult to come by in Madrid and United could make their move after their Swede's major injury Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is considering making a summer approach for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata following Zlatan Ibrahimovic's anterior cruciate ligament injury. The Old Trafford boss admitted recently that long-term knee injuries to Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo had affected his plans for the summer transfer market, saying: “Yes, if I don’t have the players for a long period of time, obviously it affects plans.” Their search for forwards has been ramped up dramatically, and Real Madrid star Morata is one of the players being considered as an alternative in the No.9 role to the Swede, who's bagged 28 goals in 2016-17, as a result of his major surgery. Mourinho’s working relationship with the 24-year-old during his spell in charge at the Bernabeu is thought to be a key asset should United decide to make

Arsenal line-up £15m rated Pablo Fornals to replace Santi Cazorla

Image
According to a report in the Mirror , Arsenal are eyeing a move for Malaga’s £15m-rated midfielder Pablo Fornals as a potential long-term replacement for Santi Cazorla. Despite on-going doubts over his future at the club, Arsene Wenger is still pressing ahead with his summer transfer plans as he looks to re-shape his squad following another disappointing campaign. Central midfield has been an area of concern ever since Cazorla was sidelined back in October and we need to find a long-term replacement for the 32-year-old as he can’t be relied upon to stay fit due to his dodgy Achilles. It looks like Arsene has found his man as the Mirror are citing a report from Marca that claims Arsenal are lining-up a swoop for Pablo Fornals after regularly scouting the Malaga midfielder throughout the season. The 21-year-old has enjoyed an excellent campaign for mid-table Malaga and has already earned his first cap for the senior Spain team so he looks like he has a huge future ahead of him. F

Arsenal open talks with agent over deal to sign £20m star

According to the Guardian , Arsenal have held initial talks with the agent of Jean Michael Seri with Nice ready to cash-in on the midfielder if £20m is put on the table this summer. Seri has enjoyed a superb campaign in France with the Ivory Coast international playing a key role in helping Nice sustain a surprise title challenge. The 25-year-old was outstanding once again on Sunday night as Nice beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 to move three points behind the French giants in third place in the Ligue 1 table. The Guardian claim that Seri’s display has convinced PSG boss Unai Emery to pursue the midfielder this summer as a possible replacement for Juventus-bound Marco Verratti. However, the newspaper says that Arsenal are also showing a keen interest in signing Seri with Arsene Wenger sending scouts to watch him in action on several occasions this season. The Guardian  go on to say the midfielder’s agent was in London last week to hold initial talks with Arsenal chiefs about a possi
