Full Arsenal injury update

ON  JANUARY 15, 2014  • BY  BOB I know that it seems Arsenal are taking one step forward and two steps back on the injury front recently, somehow it seems that the Gunners are just about getting away with it. It really is amazing that Arsenal have managed to stay at the top of the Premier League so long while carrying more injuries than all of our rivals, but we have and as long as the bad run of luck does not keep going, Arsenal look set to have an almost full squad to choose from going into a the tough business end of the season. Two more Arsenal players picked up injuries in the away win against Aston Villa. Tomas Rosicky seems to have broken his nose, while Nacho Monreal took a whack to his foot and there are fears he may have fractured a metatarsal. But the Rosicky could play in a mask and Monreal could be back in a few short weeks. Meanwhile, Kieran Gibbs has recovered from his own calf problem just in time to step in and Oxlade-Chamberlain gives Arsenal more options in m

Arsenal have made contact with perfect Walcott replacement!!

ON  JANUARY 15, 2014  • BY  BOB Arsenal in for Giovinco  by AT With Theo Walcott having been ruled out for the rest of the the season and Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner continuing his spell on the sidelines, Arsenal are rather short of options in attack. Olivier Giroud seems to be Arsene Wenger’s only option at the moment, with Lukas Podolski still seemingly coming to grips with an injury-ravaged first half of the season. However, if media reports are to be believed, Arsenal fans may have reason to be excited. A report from  The Metro  suggests that Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger has made an inquiry into the availability of Juventus striker Sebastian Giovinco, who’s agent has come out and confirmed that talks have taken place with the English side over the possibility of a loan deal till the end of the season. The agent, Claudio Pasqualin, was quoted as saying: “We have had contact with Arsenal. It was a request for information about his situation. There was nothing more [at th

Manchester City's Álvaro Negredo inspires replay win over Blackburn

Manchester City's Álvaro Negredo is congratulated by Joleon Lescott after opening the scoring in the FA Cup third-round replay at the Etihad. Photograph: Darren Staples/Reuters This season's  Manchester City  are maturing into a vintage to savour with every outing. The only side still in with a shout of an unprecedented quadruple, Manuel Pellegrini's side are a slickly smooth threshing machine that eases through the gears at will while piling up the goals for a tally that now stands at a breathtaking 99 in all competitions. Having pushed  Blackburn Rovers  aside with ease, City meet Watford in the next round of the  FA Cup  on 25 January as Cardiff City, the next visitors on Saturday to what has become the house of pain in Manchester's blue zone, start to contemplate damage limitation. Satisfaction was sealed here when Sergio Agüero ended a nine-game layoff due to a calf problem by entering after 72 minutes and promptly registering the fourth goal in this easy

Ozil makes UEFA team but says Arsenal teammate is right up there

ON  JANUARY 16, 2014  • BY  BOB The record signing of Arsenal Football Club has been named in the UEFA team of the year. Strangely, though, he is the only Premier League player to have made the XI. Many were surprised that nobody from the Premier League made the Ballon D’Or team either. However, if you are looking for some conspiracy theory about the football authorities having it in for England, which I must admit has occurred to me a few times, the fact that neither Lionel Messi nor any of his Barcelona teammates made it suggests that the people who picked the team were either smoking something strong or were all Real Madrid fans, especially as Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos, Ronaldo and Ozil were included. It is obviously a nice boost for Arsenal’s German midfielder, as was the words of his teammate Tomas Rosicky about how much he enjoyed playing alongside him. Ozil has come back and returned the compliment, as reported by  Arsenal.com , declaring that the 33-year old is right up

Arsenal UNBEATEN In Two Years With Mertesacker, Koscielny In Team

Image
It has been revealed that Arsenal have been unbeaten for almost TWO YEARS when Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny have played together. The Daily Mail reported that Monday night’s victory at Aston Villa extended a remarkable run that has seen the Gunners undefeated in every league match in which Koscielny and Mertesacker have completed 90 minutes, since a 2-1 home defeat against Manchester United on January 22, 2012. That period has included 28 games, 20 of which have resulted in victories. Off the pitch, the pair are close. They speak regularly, in English, about how best to deal with their next opponents, hatching detailed plans on how to ensure their invincible streak continues.

Arsenal star rules out Dortmund move

Serge Gnabry  has poured cold water on a move to Borussia Dortmund by insisting he is happy at Arsenal. The18-year-old has been a revelation for the Gunners since making the breakthrough into the first-team last term, appearing nine times in all competitions for us so far and has been tipped for big things by  Arsene Wenger  and the Arsenal faithful. His performances for Arsenal last season attracted Stuttgart who tried to sign him last summer, but Wenger handed the German youngster a new long-term contract to deter any interest – and it worked! But after a dazzling display against Spurs in the FA Cup over 10 days ago, Dortmund manager  Jurgen Klopp  was quick to express his admiration for Gnabry and is believed to have  sent scouts to monitor the youngster’s progress . And while many of us were worried about Dortmund’s interest in our rising star, Gnabry declared he is happy at the Emirates. He wrote on his Facebook account: ‘BVB?? I’m happy in Arsenal. Thanks for the su
