Full Arsenal injury update

I know that it seems Arsenal are taking one step forward and two steps back on the injury front recently, somehow it seems that the Gunners are just about getting away with it. It really is amazing that Arsenal have managed to stay at the top of the Premier League so long while carrying more injuries than all of our rivals, but we have and as long as the bad run of luck does not keep going, Arsenal look set to have an almost full squad to choose from going into a the tough business end of the season.
Two more Arsenal players picked up injuries in the away win against Aston Villa. Tomas Rosicky seems to have broken his nose, while Nacho Monreal took a whack to his foot and there are fears he may have fractured a metatarsal. But the Rosicky could play in a mask and Monreal could be back in a few short weeks.
Meanwhile, Kieran Gibbs has recovered from his own calf problem just in time to step in and Oxlade-Chamberlain gives Arsenal more options in midfield. Vermaelen should be back in contention for the Fulham game as well so at least we are covered in defence.
The Gunners have had some real bad luck with strikers recently, with Giroud, Bendtner and Walcott all picking up injuries, while young Sanogo has been injured almost since he arrived, but Wenger has always been able to call on someone. And by the end of January, he should have Bendtner and Sanogo back, while Giroud has had a couple of week’s rest.
There is no news yet on how long Arteta will be our after picking up a calf injury, but hopefully not too long. Meanwhile, we have Flamini to cover for him, Wilshere finding form and Ramsey very close to a return. February and March look like the toughest two months in Arsenal’s season and, apart from Walcott and Diaby, Wenger could have a full squad and that could make the difference between lifting a trophy and narrowly missing out.
