Arsenal have made contact with perfect Walcott replacement!!

Arsenal in for Giovinco by AT
With Theo Walcott having been ruled out for the rest of the the season and Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner continuing his spell on the sidelines, Arsenal are rather short of options in attack. Olivier Giroud seems to be Arsene Wenger’s only option at the moment, with Lukas Podolski still seemingly coming to grips with an injury-ravaged first half of the season.
However, if media reports are to be believed, Arsenal fans may have reason to be excited. A report from The Metro suggests that Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger has made an inquiry into the availability of Juventus striker Sebastian Giovinco, who’s agent has come out and confirmed that talks have taken place with the English side over the possibility of a loan deal till the end of the season.
The agent, Claudio Pasqualin, was quoted as saying: “We have had contact with Arsenal. It was a request for information about his situation. There was nothing more [at the moment].”
The report from The Metro also goes on to suggest that the Italian international, who has started only a handful of games for the Serie A Champions so far this season, is desperate for more football as he looks to win a place for himself in the Azzurri squad for the World Cup in Brazil. It is understood that the 26-year-old is open to a move away from Italy in his fight to make the Italian squad for the grand tournament.
In my opinion, I think Sebastian Giovinco would be a solid temporary solution for Arsenal’s injury issues. Firstly, he is a typical goal-poacher and can produce a goal in tight situations. The pint-sized striker also offers something different to Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner who are both target men in one way or another. Also, his versatility will also prove to be a huge asset for the team, the little Italian can play up front on his own, behind the main striker or even wide on either flank.
Personally, I would love to see him at the Emirates. While he may not be what most of us would term ‘world class’, he certainly is a very decent option to have till the end of the season. Besides, it really is hard to see us signing a Luis Suarez or a Jackson Martinez in the current transfer window.
