Ozil makes UEFA team but says Arsenal teammate is right up there

The record signing of Arsenal Football Club has been named in the UEFA team of the year. Strangely, though, he is the only Premier League player to have made the XI. Many were surprised that nobody from the Premier League made the Ballon D’Or team either.
However, if you are looking for some conspiracy theory about the football authorities having it in for England, which I must admit has occurred to me a few times, the fact that neither Lionel Messi nor any of his Barcelona teammates made it suggests that the people who picked the team were either smoking something strong or were all Real Madrid fans, especially as Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos, Ronaldo and Ozil were included.
It is obviously a nice boost for Arsenal’s German midfielder, as was the words of his teammate Tomas Rosicky about how much he enjoyed playing alongside him. Ozil has come back and returned the compliment, as reported by Arsenal.com, declaring that the 33-year old is right up there with the best in the Premier League. Ozil would have known Rosicky from his time in Germany, when the Czech spent five seasons with Borussia Dortmund before heading to London, but he has clearly been impressed by the high standard of performance that Rosicky has been producing all season.
Ozil said, “The feeling is mutual because we are similar types of player. We’re strong when we’re on the ball, we play quickly and I have lots of fun playing alongside the team.
“In my opinion Tomas belongs to the best midfielders in the Premier League. When you see how much he gives for the team and how he enjoys being on the ball, it makes us happy to have a player like that in the ranks.”
Ozil may well be the one of the most gifted and talented footballers in the world, but he could still learn a lot from Rosicky. Is that mix of talent, attitude and experience just the right recipe for Arsenal?
