Arsenal have huge fitness concern ahead of facing Wolves

There is a huge concern in Arsenal at the moment regarding the fitness of some key players, we all know that Arsenal squad was drastically reduced to during the conclude transfer window and the was no reasonable replacement.

After being knocked out of the FA Cup in round 3, fans have to wait even longer to see Arsenal in action. A training camp in Dubai offers fun training videos and smiles in the sunshine, but with the oldest World Cup competition taking place over the weekend, all that's left to do is twirl your fingers yours.

With a tight friendly against Reading, everyone is looking forward to February 10 when the Gunners travel to Molineux to face Wolves.

The Wanderers have a very busy month of fixtures coming up and it will be key to their European hopes.

Only 2 points behind Mikel Arteta's side in the rankings, they should be considered in the top 4 thanks to their efficiency and excellent defensive record. Similarly, if they win all 3 points on Thursday, they will overtake Arsenal in the table.

Their next few fixtures will be quite tough because this is how it will come, all five of those matches will take place in the space of 17 days between February 10 and February 27.

Wolves’ February fixtures in the Premier League: Arsenal (h), Spurs (a), Leicester (h), Arsenal (a), West Ham (a)

Arsenal with their own issues, with a squad of just 21 players - including three goalkeepers - there is little room for error. It's about injuries, of course, and the club are still worried about Takehiro Tomiyasu's fitness.

Sadly, he hasn't attended any training sessions in Dubai while recovering from a calf injury, Charles Watts has also confirmed he will not be taking part in the match against Reading. In such a slim team, where an injury or two can be fatal, right-back ranks high on the list of key areas.

Cedric Soares is not Tomiyasu, not even close. The fall was brutal. Dramatic, in fact. Tomiyasu is the team's stable player. He provides the platform for Benjamin White to show more, practically playing the role of two players in defence, and offers variations in his two-foot construction.

The important thing when he's facing off against wolves is that he wreaks havoc in the air as well. In Ruben Neves, Wolves have one of the best play in the squad and someone from Tomiyasu's aerial dominance will help neutralize that avenue on his side. It goes without saying that Cédric does not provide this stability.

After the 0-0 draw with Burnley, Arteta said Tomiyasu would be sidelined for 'a few weeks'. If this timeline is correct, the amount of time before the game against Wolves should be enough for him to recover, but the fact that he is nowhere to be found in the training and friendlies photos is a big concern.

We all hope for the best.
