Arsenal played it safe against Dortmund, claims Neven Subotic

Neven Subotic felt Borussia Dortmund got their just reward after the Bundesliga side blew Champions League Group F wide open with victory at Arsenal on Tuesday.

The visitors took the lead in the 16th minute through Henrikh Mkhitaryan after Aaron Ramsey was caught in possession on the edge of the box.
Arsène Wenger’s men worked their way back into the game and Olivier Giroud slammed home an equaliser from Bacary Sagna’s cross just before half-time.
But Dortmund had the final say as Robert Lewandowski finished off a sweeping counter-attack in the 82nd minute to leave Dortmund, Napoli and Arsenal all on six points in Group F.
“I don’t think Arsenal were playing their best football – they were trying to play pretty safe,” Subotic said.
“They felt they were going to score one goal more than us through their patience and through their play, but we ran a lot and defended very well and had some great chances.
“We are obviously very happy with the three points. We came here not expecting anything but hoping for the best obviously. As the game progressed we always wanted more and more.”
