Podolski nears Arsenal comeback

By Nemanja Lazarevic
German forward Lukas Podolski has revealed that he is getting closer to returning into action after spending the last six weeks on the sidelines.
The 28-year-old picked up a hamstring injury in the Champions League clash against Fenerbahce and he was supposed to miss around two months of action.
Podolski has been working hard on improving his fitness over the last couple of weeks and even posted a picture on his official Instagram account to show his progress.
“An intensive week of training found its end. I’m working hard for my comeback!,” the caption read.
Given that there won’t be any Premier League fixtures next weekend due to the international break, the German could make his return in the home match against Norwich, scheduled for 19th October, where the Gunners are 7/25 to continue the great run of results.
Lukas Podolski enjoyed a pretty impressive start to his career in England, managing 11 goals and 10 assists in 33 Premier League fixtures, but that did not prove enough for him to nail down a regular starting berth.
The Germany international amassed just a dozen minutes in Arsenal’s first two games of the season before scoring a brace in his first start against Fulham.
Podolski was quite unfortunate to pick up an injury against Fenerbahce as he would have probably earned plenty of playing time with both Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott on the sidelines.
