Arsenal Bid For Cabaye Accepted

Well it is about time that Arsenal fans had something to cheer about today, as Sky Sports are reporting right now that the Gunners have put in a bid for Yohan Cabaye, and Newcastle have accepted it!

So now Arsenal have a couple of hours to agree personal terms and check him over before the window shuts. Cabaye has been linked with Arsenal for the last few days after it was originally assumed that we were after his midfield Toon team-mate Chieck Tiote – but it seems that those rumours were wide of the mark.
When it was originally reported that Arsenal were chasing Tiote, Wenger responded by saying: ‘I’m pleased with what I have, but yes I anticipate that we will do something. Defensive midfielder? It depends on the quality of the players available. Tiote is a good player, but he’s not on the way to Arsenal.’

Wenger obviously rates the £15m-rated French midfielder Cabaye above his team-mate Tiote, and it looks like we may have something to cheer about before the window firmly shuts…….
