Wenger knows what he wants from the transfer market before the window closes

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already shattered his low-spending image and aims to go even further with a plan to add another star to his squad before the transfer window closes for the summer, as claimed by London24.

Wenger has already splashed over £40 million for the transfers of Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla. However, this has also been a summer of heartbreak for Arsenal fans as skipper Robin van Persie moved to rivals Manchester United whereas midfielder Alex Song shipped out to Spanish giants Barcelona.
The effects of the departures and the unsettled new squad are evident as Arsenal succumbed to their second goalless draw in successive games this season. Wenger is hopeful that the arrival of another star at the Emirates could lift spirits as the last bit of news coming from the club has been of the departure of Song.

However, the Frenchman will be prudent and will spend his funds only on the right type of player.
“[Defensively] overall we did very well, our defenders, our midfielders, [Abou] Diaby had a good protection role in midfield. Our back four did well, our goalkeeper did well,” Wenger commented after the draw against Stoke City. “I’m pleased with what I have, but yes I anticipate that we will do something still, we are still on the market. Defensive midfielder, it depends on the quality of the players available.”

The Frenchman is in the market primarily for a defensive midfielder with Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila on the radar. The Gunners were also linked with a move for Newcastle star Chieck Tiote, but Wenger dismissed the rumours claiming that the Ivorian did not fit the bill for Arsenal. Arsenal fans will certainly welcome this new found habit of their manager and will hope that the next buy takes Arsenal to the next level.
