Wenger Happy With Gunner's UCL Group

Arsene Wenger has welcomed Arsenal's Champions League draw and accepts his side are the favourites to progress.

The Gunners face Schalke and the champions of Greece and France respectively, Olympiacos and Montpellier, in a group that is reasonably light on travelling.

Wenger, who is preparing Arsenal for Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield, stresses the need to make a positive start against Montpellier on September 18.

"We will be favourites because we have the biggest experience in this group," he told Arsenal Player.
"But we know by experience that the Champions League is the Champions League.
"Every team is a special occasion, it's always a cup game and you want to be serious and have a good start."
While Arsenal have avoided any of Europe's big guns, Wenger insists Group B remains a formidable challenge.

"We start in Montpellier, which is a difficult place with a lot of passion," he said.
"Certainly there will be a lot of psychological investment for them in this Champions League, so for us it is important of course to be highly focused.

"Many players do not know the passionate atmosphere in the south of France and will be surprised - but we have the experience.

"Schalke are always strong. They are the most popular team in the league with the biggest support, a massive support.

"Historically they are a massive club. Germany is a football nation, so you have no easy games.
"Olympiacos have beaten us convincingly over there and we have underestimated them a little bit previously.
"At the Emirates they gave us a tough time. We just won last season, so we know that they are a good side.
"They are always at the top of the table in Greece and have a big experience in the Champions League."

Arsenal will give a fitness test to goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny before naming their team against Liverpool.
Szczesny is a doubt with the rib problem that forced him to miss last weekend's goalless draw with Stoke, so Italian Vito Mannone is on standby once again.

"Liverpool will be more technical and play the ball on the floor more than Stoke," said Mannone.
"It is a dream of any kid to play at Anfield. I went a few years ago to watch a game, just to see the stadium.
"It will be fun if I have the chance because I would love to play in that ground, feel the atmosphere and hopefully get a win.
