Manchester City are planning a late swoop for Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila, after missing out on Roma’s Daniele De Rossi.




ESPN suggest that the Premier League champions have tabled a bid for the France international, who has been persistently linked with a move to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur throughout the summer.  Neither club are yet to agree on a fee for the tough tackling midfielder, leaving the door open for a late bid from Manchester City.

Roma enforcer De Rossi had been a long term target of Roberto Mancini, but following the Italian’s strong reiteration to continue his career at his boyhood club, the Italian manager has been left with no choice but to investigate other options. Having also been seemingly been put off the valuation of Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez, M’Vila may been seen as a viable target as the Italian manager seeks to reinforce his midfield.

Meanwhile, Swansea City winger Scott Sinclair on the brink of sealing a £5 million move to Eastlands, with the move to be completed in the next 48 hours, ESPN suggest.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with the signing of Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey throughout 2020, and finally landed their man on Deadline Day. Willian has a new shirt number which is 12 wore by the famous Olivier Giroud at Arsenal, after signing on a free transfer from Chelsea on Friday following the conclusion of his contract at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal confirmed Willian will take 12 for his shirt number next season, after completing his move to the club. Stephan Lichtsteiner was the most recent player to wear the number, with Olivier Giroud, Thierry Henry, Carlos Vela and Lauren as the other four in the last 20 years. Hopefully, Willian will perform significantly more impressively for Arsenal than Lichtsteiner did. The Gunners signed the right-back on an initial one-year deal with the option to extend for a further two, but they ended up giving up on him before the first year was even up.
