Newcastle standing firm over Yohan Cabaye and Cheick Tiote interest

The news comes after a weekend of intense speculation surrounding the trio, with Cabaye and Tiote linked with moves to Arsenal and Chelsea, while captain Coloccini is a target for Manchester City.

But Magpies boss Pardew, who is desperate to hang onto his big names this summer, says the club aren't looking to entertain offers this late in the window.

'All my bigger players are important and would be hard to replace now,' Pardew confessed.

'You lose a big player at this stage of the season and you have to try to take someone out from somewhere else and they want a replacement and suddenly time is running out.

'We want to avoid losing any of our big players and not being able to get someone in to replace them.'

Pardew knows better than most the perils of selling late on, having flogged Andy Carroll to Liverpool in the closing stages of last January, and ultimately running out of time to spend the £35 million fee.

But despite interest in his leading lights, Pardew says they've not had contact with anybody yet.

'As far as I'm aware, we haven’t had phone calls about any of our players.'

Arsenal are said to be weighing up £15 million bids for both of Cabaye and Tiote, while the latter is a long-term target for Chelsea.

Argentine centre back Coloccini, rated at £18 million, is being chased by City, after they missed out on Liverpool's Daniel Agger last week.
