Everton in pole position to land youngster who had long been linked with Arsenal
17 year-old French sensation from Caen, M’Baye Niang is being paraded across England and after having completed a week-long trial with Arsenal is now on his way to Everton who have beaten off interest Spurs to steal M’Baye Niang for yet another trial at their Finch Farm training ground, according to the Sun.
The Caen youth product has shown considerable promise breaking into the first team at the tender age of 16. Having made 30 appearances with 5 goals for the club, he is looking for a move to a bigger club after Caen were relegated last season.
Although the youngster has two years to go on his current deal, Caen are resigned to losing the starlet and are keen to receive £5 million in transfer fees. Everton boss David Moyes also has the funds to splurge having just offloaded Jack Rodwell to Man City.
Wenger was earlier the front-runner for his signature, but Arsenal’s slow progress over payments have forced Caen to exhibit their star to other top sides, with Man City, Tottenham and AC Milan also interested. However, Moyes will hope that his newly found riches will help him land the promising young striker this summer.
