Arsenal to sell midfielder to Milan?

Milan spark interest in Denilson by TS
So after today’s disappointing result against Stoke, we have to wonder whether an established striker should now be on AW’s mind. However, that’s another article altogether. Perhaps, the likes of this topic( If it comes to be) will inspire AW to invest in another striker. So we all know there’s a lot of news and speculation about who might come into our squad but today a report has come out suggesting who may be leaving.
Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri is in the market for a defensive midfielder and Denilson is thought to be on his radar. The player is currently on-loan at Sao Paulo after finding his first-team chances at the Emirates limited. The 24 year old Brazilian came through the youth ranks at Sao Paulo before joining Arsenal in August 2006. He enjoyed a successful spell back on loan at his former club last season, making 37 appearances and the club once again moved to take him on loan again this term. However, there is a clause in his contract which enables Arsenal to sell Denilson despite the loan agreement if they receive a suitable offer.
Now the question that crosses my mind is, why did we loan Denilson if we need a defensive midfielder? I’ll be honest and say that I didn’t watch one game in the Brazilian league but, judging from how much interest Denilson is receiving, its making me wonder if the lad has improved over the past year. I was always a fan of his when he managed to break into the first team and can remember one or two really good goals that he scored.
However, the Gunners are believed to be willing to offload Denilson and the news has alerted Milan, who are preparing a bid for the talented midfielder, although they could face competition from other sides to sign him. Another Italian club and sides from Russia are thought to be monitoring Denilson’s situation as they look to tempt Arsenal into selling the South American on a permanent basis. If he does go though, one thing is for certain- we need to re invest that money back into the squad. Too many draws in the EPL can have us reeling and fighting our way into the top four once again, which frankly, simply isn’t good enough
