Celta Vigo confirm deal for Arsenal striker Park

So not the big hot transfer gossip everyone was expecting but maybe some mixed news to break the flow of tide. Spanish side Celta Vigo have now officially confirmed the signing of Arsenal’s Park Chu-Young on a loan deal according to Spanish paper Marca. I’m not a fan of Marca but now this report also been confirmed on the Celta Vigo official site so it’s true.

Park, who arrived on deadline day last season, struggled to even make the bench during his first season with Arsenal and was one of AW more curious signings.

No one really knows why he wasn’t given a chance or why he was unable to break into the first team given Chamakh’s poor performances, but it seems like AW had his reasons-whatever they may have been. The player also had his military service delayed so he could continue with his football career so it was granted that he was committed to breaking into the first team.

However, Park will not spend this season at the Emirates and perhaps the questions we have with this player will remain unanswered till he returns. In total, Park has made four appearances for Arsenal and scored one goal in the Carling Cup against Bolton.  He made two starts and came off the bench twice. Celta Vigo are expected to report Park as their player later today.

With Park now gone, one has to wonder what striker, if any, AW will think of bringing in before the end of today and what consequences we will face without a suitable replacement. It is speculated that Arsenal were hoping to alleviate any striker problems with the potential signing of Llorente but now with Spurs and
Liverpool( once again) in the mix of our transfer hopefuls, who the hell knows what’s going to happen in that department. I wish Park all the best for the upcoming season and hope to see him in an Arsenal shirt next year.
