Arsenal turn attention to Sevilla winger Navas

According to the Daily Mail, the Spanish winger is top of the Gunner’ transfer list with reports widely circulating that he will be a replacement for want-away star Theo Walcott. Navas has many admirers after impressing in recent seasons and he is thought to be keen on a move to the Emirates. The 26-year-old does have a £35 million buy-out clause but Sevilla are willing to accept a bid for around half of that fee. So far in his career the Spaniard is a one-man club, joining Sevilla in 2003 as a 15-year-old. Since then he has played 250 La Liga games and has scored 23 goals – but he is most famous for his service to the front men which has seen him notch up 56 assists in his time at the club. Whilst the transfer does not rest on Walcott it is clear that should the Englishman refuse a contract then Wenger will make signing Navas a must, however the stalemate between Walcott and Arsenal is still showing no signs of change in either direction.
