Still a chance that Arsenal and Man City will end up doing a deal before transfer window closes

Arsenal are linked with a shock move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko as Arsene Wenger looks to solve the goal-scoring conundrum before the transfer deadline day.

Arsenal have added Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud to their ranks in the summer, to fill up the void left by the departure of Robin van Persie who was sold to Manchester United for £24m but the manager has been left frustrated by the fact, that his side has been held by consecutive goal-less draws in their opening two Barclays Premier League fixtures.

Wenger will try to offload some of the fringe players in the squad and try to test City’s resolve with an audacious bid for the player before the transfer window shuts down. Arsenal are prepared to pay at the most £18m for the Bosnian, who has become frustrated with lack of first team opportunities at the club.

He has fallen down the pecking orders behind Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli at Manchester City. Last season, despite scoring 14 league goals and starting the season brightly, he lost the favour of manager and was summoned mostly from the bench towards the end of the season.

Dzeko has voiced his frustration over Mancini’s treatment and the Italian might be tempted to cash in on the 26-years-old as he wishes to add few new faces before the window closes.
